Our current story has been a trending topic on social media thanks to Zimbo Live TV. We visited Murehwa and found a tense community, as this couple has sparked a lot of debate, and left the entire Muzanenhamo Village perplexed. Mbuya Caroline, nearly 70, has left her husband, Sekuru Murisa, for 22-year-old Dickson.

This situation made me reflect on the saying “love is blind” and consider how societal norms and expectations shape our views on relationships and age differences.

If the roles were reversed, and it was Sekuru Murisa leaving Mbuya Caroline for a much younger woman, would the reaction be different? Would it even be an issue?  If Dickson were 70 and Carol 22, would there be a debate?
